value for money: goodwill is not a governance model
Community goodwill contributes to the social licence of NGOs that deliver taxpayer‑funded services, and the government agencies that fund them, but goodwill is not a substitute for accountability. Social licences can be lost, and that loss can trigger heavy‑handed external interventions that do more to increase administration and costs than they do to rebuild trust. This video makes a case for voluntarily lifting governance standards, including transparency, accountability, and credible performance measures, while the community still trusts us to lead without being pushed.
