When work is fragmented, highly specialised, or short-term, the traditional hiring model of whole roles may not offer the best results or value. That model makes for tidy org charts, but sometimes messy results in organisations with underused specialists, overstretched generalists, and capability gaps that are hard to fill. In this video we briefly explore the ‘Frankenworker’ approach, which mobilises specialist capability by assembling just the right parts of different people’s skills and effort to fit the task.
